About the role

The Director of Advancement (DOA) will oversee all aspects of Westover’s fundraising, alumnae and parent engagement programs, and further strengthen a growing culture of philanthropy. Reporting to the Head of School, the DOA will help shape the strategic direction of the advancement office and position the School for its next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all fundraising efforts, including annual campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage alumnae and parents in philanthropic activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Head of School and senior leadership to align advancement goals with the overall strategic plan
  • Manage a team of advancement staff and oversee the development and implementation of projects and events
  • Represent Westover at various events and meetings, both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with the marketing coordinator to promote the school through various channels
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in fundraising activities

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, with a master’s degree preferred
  • Proven track record in fundraising and alumni relations
  • Experience working in a school setting or similar organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of nonprofit management principles and practices

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using technology tools for fundraising and event planning

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $200,000 to $215,000
  • Generous benefits package, including housing and potential tuition remission
