About the role

The Director of Advancement will lead fundraising efforts to support Wilbraham & Monson Academy's mission and financial goals. Reporting directly to the head of school, this role plays a central part in advancing the institution through philanthropy, engagement, and partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase annual giving and capital campaigns
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Manage donor relations and stewardship activities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align advancement initiatives with broader institutional goals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures related to fundraising and donor relations

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in K-12 education
  • A proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and event planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience managing a team and overseeing operations
  • Knowledge of best practices in K-12 education fundraising and alumni engagement
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, education, communications)
  • Proven success in developing and executing fundraising strategies
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational setting
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of donor psychology and cultivation techniques
