About the role
The Director of Advancement will lead fundraising efforts to support Wilbraham & Monson Academy's mission and financial goals. Reporting directly to the head of school, this role plays a central part in advancing the institution through philanthropy, engagement, and partnership.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to increase annual giving and capital campaigns
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni, parents, and other stakeholders
- Manage donor relations and stewardship activities
- Oversee the development and implementation of fundraising events and campaigns
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to align advancement initiatives with broader institutional goals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures related to fundraising and donor relations
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in K-12 education
- A proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and event planning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing a team and overseeing operations
- Knowledge of best practices in K-12 education fundraising and alumni engagement
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, education, communications)
- Proven success in developing and executing fundraising strategies
- Experience working in a K-12 educational setting
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong understanding of donor psychology and cultivation techniques
