About the Role

Families who select Alpha Miami have relied on trusted advisors across every facet of their lives. This is the one relationship they haven't yet had. You will become the person they reach out to when something doesn't feel quite right, when uncertainty surfaces, or when they want to share a moment with someone who truly understands. You will develop a deep familiarity with each family—anticipating their needs before they articulate them—and you will possess the judgment and composure to respond to whatever they bring you with warmth, discretion, and complete ease.

Over time, you won't simply represent the school their child attends. You will become woven into the way they experience this meaningful stage of family life. The private school landscape in Miami is tightly knit, interconnected, and intolerant of errors. A family's journey at Alpha does not remain confined to the school itself—it reverberates through influential networks: residential buildings, private clubs, yachts, philanthropic events, and the WhatsApp channels that quietly determine where the next cohort enrolls. You will intuitively grasp this reality, because your career has unfolded in environments where reputation is the singular form of capital and one mistake can eclipse years of success.

You will cultivate a community that families regard with a sense of ownership, where inclusion feels natural and word-of-mouth referrals emerge because the experience genuinely deserves them. Miami operates as a global hub by nature. You will engage with families from Latin America, multinational executives, finance and technology professionals who have recently relocated to Miami, and globally mobile households whose perspectives on education—and institutions more broadly—are informed by experiences well beyond the typical American independent school framework. Many navigate between Miami, São Paulo, Bogotá, Madrid, and New York with the same fluidity others exhibit crossing neighborhoods, and they will evaluate Alpha against educational options worldwide.

The ideal candidate for this role will be equally adept at navigating cross-cultural family contexts—and the expectation of seamless, sophisticated relationships—as they are the more recognizable dynamics of Miami's private school environment. Alpha does not follow conventional school models. Students complete their core academic work in two hours per day using AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Performance outcomes in the top 1% nationally. The families who select Alpha have made a deliberate choice—and in a city where opinions are abundant and educational decisions carry social weight, they will be expected to justify that choice repeatedly. You will ensure they are never caught without a confident answer.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the cultural identity of the school community—the atmosphere, rituals, and implicit standards that foster a sense of belonging—so that Alpha becomes a source of pride for families, not merely an institution they selected.
  • Steward the parent relationship from beginning to end—from initial inquiry through enrollment, ongoing engagement, and sustained advocacy—so teaching staff remain focused on students and families consistently have a reliable point of contact.
  • Detect early when something is amiss, and address it with the discretion and judgment that preserves trust—including the more difficult discernment of recognizing when a family is not the right match.
  • Maintain visibility where families are: morning arrival, afternoon departure, evening gatherings, and the informal exchanges that carry the greatest weight.
  • Foster a community that both domestic and international families regard protectively—and where advocacy arises organically because the experience merits it.
  • Convey Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual dialogues, at community events, and within the circles of discerning, internationally connected families where the school's standing is truly established.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Operating from behind a desk—your visible presence within the community defines the role.
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early morning availability, late afternoon engagement, and evening events are integral to the position, not occasional occurrences.
  • Redirecting challenging parent discussions to faculty or administrators—you assume full ownership of these conversations.
  • Relying on administrative infrastructure, established systems, or a complete team—you function with substantial autonomy and create what is necessary.
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic connection, not procedural adherence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and sustaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a high-touch, relationship-centered capacity.
  • A demonstrated history of guiding sophisticated clients through consequential decisions—with measurable results you can articulate: conversion rates, retention figures, referral growth.
  • The discretion and poise to navigate sensitive, confidential matters without compromising relationships.
  • A proven record of managing and developing people—providing coaching, upholding rigorous standards, and making difficult personnel judgments—not simply managing relationships or client portfolios.
  • Intuitive cross-cultural fluency with both globally mobile and long-established Miami families.
  • AI-first orientation—you leverage AI tools with ease, understand their strengths and limitations, and proactively identify superior alternatives, even if you are not developing them yourself.
  • Residing in Miami, available full-time on-site, and comfortable with non-standard hours.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Background as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or in a similar school leadership capacity.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Personal or professional exposure to independent or non-traditional educational models.
  • Established connections within Miami's private school parent communities.
  • Experience working with internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected families.
  • A personal network that extends through the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families reside and make decisions.
