Director of Admissions, Alpha - $250,000/year USD
Unlike most enrollment positions designed for high volume, this role is built to uphold quality. Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-driven instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by verifiable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth work, independent learning, and practical skill development. The model is effective—but only when paired with appropriate families. That is your responsibility.
About the role
You will control the complete admissions process for a campus, spanning initial application to final enrollment. This is not a role defined by handoffs. You determine how families encounter us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment decisions reflect sound judgment. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate substantive discussions, and advise against enrollment when warranted. You will also cultivate local interest by establishing community connections, attracting qualified families, and delivering measurable campus enrollment growth. Maximum enrollment is not the objective. Sustained growth with well-matched families is.
We welcome applicants from selective education, premium membership services, luxury hospitality, high-value client services, or owner-operated ventures who have directly managed intricate client experiences from start to finish. Adjacent premium-service or executive-support experience qualifies only when accompanied by demonstrable evidence of demand generation, partnership development, or ownership of measurable growth results. If you pair refined judgment with the ambition to serve as the local campus representative and drive enrollment growth, this role will resonate.
Responsibilities
- Directing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach through onboarding.
- Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to establish fit prior to offering solutions or advising on next steps.
- Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment stages, with transparent tracking of status and follow-up actions.
- Guiding campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-making conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
- Keeping CRM and enrollment systems (HubSpot and SIS) current to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
- Admitting poorly aligned families to satisfy enrollment targets.
- Supervising a large staff or working through complex approval hierarchies.
- Distributing ownership of the family experience across multiple roles.
- Working from a remote location. This role requires on-campus presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee a high-trust, selective enrollment process that secures appropriate families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha model.
Requirements
- 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service quality materially affects brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, premium membership, high-value services, or owner-operated businesses).
- Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact through onboarding.
- Proven ownership of enrollment expansion or comparable high-value customer-acquisition objectives, including active lead generation, local market or community partnership creation, and quantifiable conversion or growth results.
- Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, supported by a defined tracking and prioritization method.
- Capacity to supply specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your product or service when alignment was absent.
- Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or sophisticated clients.
- Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these markets: San Rafael (Marin County), CA; or Palo Alto, CA.
- Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience in selective private school admissions or competitive program enrollment.
- Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest services, or executive-level support roles.
- Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, SOPs, or service standards.
- Comfort leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance conversion quality, not merely pace.
