Director of Admissions, Alpha - $250,000/year USD
About the Role
Alpha School students, on average, experience 2.4 to 2.6 times the academic growth of traditional school students — Forbes Alpha is hiring. The families you know don’t need more services. They need someone they trust without question. This role sits at the center of that trust. You will become the person families rely on when something feels off, when they need perspective, or when they want to share something that matters. Not because it’s your job—but because you’ve earned it. Your presence will shape how they experience their child’s education at one of two Bay Area campuses: San Rafael or downtown San Francisco.
Alpha is building a different kind of school. Students complete core academics in two hours a day using AI-powered platforms, then spend the rest of their time on public speaking, critical thinking, and real-world execution. No lectures. No busywork. Top 1% outcomes nationally.
Our families are sophisticated, well-advised, and often skeptical. They expect clear thinking, not scripts. You will guide that conversation over time. Not just at enrollment, but across years. You will speak fluently about AI—how it works, where it fails, and why it matters—especially with families who build companies, invest in them, or expect precision in every decision. If you cannot hold that level of conversation, this role will feel heavy. If you can, it becomes one of the most intellectually engaging roles in education.
This is not account management. This is long-term trust with ultra-high-net-worth families who expect discretion, judgment, and consistency. If that environment feels familiar—and you reach for AI daily to think, write, and operate faster—you will recognize the opportunity immediately.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own the full relationship with every family on campus, building trust that compounds over time
- Anticipate concerns early and resolve them with discretion, speed, and sound judgment
- Maintain high visibility during key moments: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, and curated parent events
- Lead ongoing, informed conversations about Alpha's AI-driven model with highly analytical, tech-forward families
- Design and refine community experiences that create belonging, advocacy, and referral momentum
What You Won't Be Doing
Here is what this role is not:
- Managing admissions funnels or enrollment targets—your focus begins after families join
- Sitting behind a desk or operating through email alone—this is a high-presence role
- Following scripts or deflecting hard questions about AI or education
- Relying on rigid processes—you will build systems where they do not yet exist
- Treating families as accounts—this role rewards judgment, not task completion
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain deep trust with ultra-high-net-worth families, ensuring long-term retention, advocacy, and confidence in Alpha's AI-powered education model.
Basic Requirements
- Based in or able to commute daily to San Rafael or San Francisco
- 5+ years working directly with UHNW individuals or families in private schools, private equity, family offices, or elite client service environments

- Active, daily user of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) with the ability to clearly explain AI capabilities, risks, and limitations
- Strong presence and communication style that earns credibility with highly educated, high-expectation families
- Familiarity with private or independent school ecosystems, either professionally or personally
- Availability for early mornings, late afternoons, and select evening or weekend events
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Existing relationships within Bay Area private school or UHNW communities
- Experience working with founders, investors, or tech executives
- Track record of building communities or experiences that drive organic referrals
- Experience in early-stage or high-growth environments where ambiguity is high
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, confident conversations
