About the role

A rapidly growing investment management firm focused on partnering with high-growth private companies is seeking a Director of Accounting. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this highly visible leadership role will partner closely with executive leadership to oversee general accounting for multiple entities, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, and enjoys building scalable financial processes that support continued growth. Experience within private equity, investment management, asset management, or financial services is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all corporate accounting activities across multiple legal entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review corporate financial statements, management reporting packages, and executive-level analyses.
  • Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and supporting reconciliations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage accounting for intercompany transactions, consolidations, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, debt, and equity activities.
  • Research and document technical accounting matters, providing recommendations on complex accounting issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • MBA, CFA, or other advanced finance credential preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, FP&A, corporate finance, treasury, investment banking, or a related financial leadership role.
  • Experience within private equity, investment management, asset management, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience managing treasury operations, banking relationships, and liquidity management.
  • Proven ability to prepare executive and board-level financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, strategic investments, or corporate development initiatives is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of capital structure, financing strategy, and multi-entity financial operations.

Pay

$200-225K + Bonus
