Director of Accounting

About the role

The Director of Accounting will lead the accounting and finance department at a rapidly growing manufacturing company. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will support the financial needs of the team, develop and maintain accounting processes, and drive department performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accounting processes to ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with GAAP
• Optimize department performance and manage multiple direct reports
• Oversee all aspects of the credit and corporate accounting team, delegating tasks as necessary
• Establish best practices and protocols for the accounting and finance team
• Spearhead short-term financial objectives while maintaining long-term vision
• Conduct financial analyses, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Cultivate strong relationships with the Leadership Team for transparent communication

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive Accounting leadership experience
• CPA certification required
• Mechanical engineering degree preferred

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations
• Experience with cost accounting and margin optimization
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team

Pay

$180K – $225K DOE
