About the role

The Director, North America Revenue Management sets the long-term strategy and leadership to a team responsible for the financial performance of Alaska’s coupon revenue in our core North American network, and is the primary owner of our inventory management strategies and performance.

This highly-leveraged role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to continuously improve pricing capabilities at the company. The Director, North America Revenue Management also closely collaborates with other senior leaders in the company to both advise on and to develop strategies and goals which maximize long-term financial returns for Alaska Airlines.

Key Duties

  • Sets the long-term strategy and guiding principles for core revenue-driving activities, with particular emphasis on attaining our maximum revenue opportunity on every flight, every day.
  • Develops new or enhances existing pricing practices and KPIs to align with company goals.
  • Exercises considerable latitude to establish and maintain procedures for reviewing and adjusting revenue strategies based on the changing economic and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborates as a both a thought leader & SME with other leaders in pricing, network planning, legal, airports, alliances, e-commerce, sales, and marketing to create alignment and urgency in delivering aggressive annual revenue budgets through both tactical moves and long-term projects.
  • Acts as a senior advisor on projects impacting revenue initiatives throughout the company.
  • Leverages a variety of statistical and analytical databases and techniques to explain business and revenue trends to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Affirms the effectiveness of revenue strategies through analytics and coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities for pricing team through business intelligence improvement.
  • Maintains relationships with revenue management vendors to align product roadmaps with Alaska’s vision, and keep current with the latest in industry trends and advancements.
  • Serves as the primary owner of company’s Revenue Management System, its performance, and its development.
  • Influences the development of the company’s revenue forecast and budget by advising on industry and Alaska-specific trends in pricing.
  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and disciplines.
  • Shapes culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
  • Serves as the voice of Alaska Air Group at industry forums with a strong and clear future vision and evaluates / adopts technology to enhance Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air’s competitive advantage.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required

  • 8 years of experience in airline pricing, revenue management, network planning, or related area.
  • 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in mathematics, finance, economics, or related field; or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical and analytical modeling.
  • Accomplishments in conducting complex analysis and cross-divisional projects to deliver results.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrates excellent initiative, accountability, and project management skills.
  • Goal-oriented, with a bias for action and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to execute actions through effective and transparent communication and provide performance results and feedback to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to remain focused on results while prioritizing competing goals and interests.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Advanced experience with database programs (e.g., SQL, Access, Business Objects or Brio).
  • Deep knowledge of airline fare filing, distribution, and demand forecasting technology & processes.

Salary Range

$172,550 - $267,450 / year

Total Target Compensation Range (incl. Bonus & Equity): $224,315 - $347,685

Salary Details: The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
