Director NICU
Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of NICU/PICU/Peds will provide leadership to assigned nursing units with responsibility for planning, directing, and evaluating the patient care and services provided. Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Manages personnel in the accomplishment of designated goals and the provision of nursing care and services.
- Manages the provision of adequate and competent staffing.
- Evaluates effectiveness of care in producing desired patient outcomes.
- Adds to the effectiveness of care by addressing any issues that affect the desired patient outcomes.
- Ensures that age and culturally appropriate care is given.
- Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and JCAHO requirements.
- Makes sure that the annual hospital operating budget is monitored and adhered to.
- Implements cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions.
- Aids staff in providing patient care and services as needed.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current licensure as an RN.
- Previous experience as a Nurse Manager or Director.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in NICU or PICU.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Management.
- Clinical nursing experience in NICU, PICU, and Peds.
