About the role
The Director, Multi Line Account Engineer will oversee a dedicated team of underwriters, focusing on portfolio management, account retention, and partnership development across various lines of insurance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, policyholders, and brokers to manage assigned service accounts.
- Assess account operations, exposures, and hazard mitigation strategies to support Arch underwriting decisions.
- Generate and review required reports and recommendations to improve account and book performance.
- Manage workload with third-party providers to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain high-quality output.
- Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as needed.
- Utilize analytical and decision-making skills, along with Microsoft Office Suite applications, to enhance account and book performance.
- Assist Arch and clients with ongoing and specific projects as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of risk control experience with both account management and site/field surveys.
- Solid knowledge base and professional experience in property, general liability, products liability, workers compensation, auto, and excess.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA, FM, OSHA, DOT, and other relevant standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and business acumen.
- Continuous learning and application of new concepts to the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or safety-related field with relevant insurance industry experience.
- Industry designations are appreciated but not required.
Skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to utilize tools/software to create and modify documents and perform data analysis.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $133,300 - $179,964 per year. Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) will be determined based on a variety of factors including geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization, and business needs.
