About the role
The Director, Multi Line Account Engineer will provide in-depth portfolio management of a dedicated UW team (5-10 underwriters) across all lines (property, general liability, workers compensation and auto), collaborating with underwriting, claims, policyholders, and brokers. Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Perform account management functions for assigned service accounts.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, policyholders, and brokers to reduce loss potential and develop healthy account relationships.
- Conduct on-site and remote surveys to assess an account’s operations, exposures, and hazard mitigation strategies.
- Generate and review required reports and recommendations to support Arch underwriting.
- Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives.
- Manage workload with third-party vendors as needed to accomplish assigned work by deadlines set by underwriters and department.
- Ensure the quality of work provided by third-party vendors.
- Aid Arch and clients with ongoing and specific projects.
- Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of risk control experience with both account management and site/field surveys.
- Solid knowledge base and professional experience in property, general liability, products liability, workers compensation, auto, and excess.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA, FM, OSHA, DOT and other relevant standards and best practices.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and business acumen.
- Continued learning and application of new concepts to the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or safety-related field with relevant insurance industry experience.
- Industry designations appreciated but not required.
Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize tools/software to create and modify documents and perform data analysis.
