This role serves as the strategic brand leader for one of SERB's most important growth drivers and launch assets, Bentracimab. The Director will develop and execute the US brand strategy, own launch strategy and commercialization efforts, and drive long-term brand performance across the product lifecycle.

About the role

The Director, Marketing, Bentracimab will develop customer-centric strategies grounded in market insights, competitive intelligence, and commercial objectives. This role leads a Senior Manager of Marketing and collaborates across Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Global teams to deliver a successful launch and sustained commercial growth. Based in Cambridge, MA or Conshohocken, PA with a 3-day onsite schedule, this leader will help establish launch excellence capabilities, scalable commercial best practices, and innovative approaches that elevate both the Bentracimab franchise and future SERB brands. The position reports to the Vice President, Head of Marketing, Rare Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the US brand strategy for Bentracimab, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and commercial performance goals.
  • Establish a clear strategic vision for the brand across launch, growth, and lifecycle stages.
  • Translate customer insights, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and business priorities into actionable brand strategies.
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead strategic initiatives that maximize brand value and market adoption.
  • Serve as the primary commercial steward for the brand and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess brand health, promotional effectiveness, adoption trends, and business performance.
  • Lead development and execution of comprehensive launch plans to ensure successful market entry and early adoption.
  • Drive launch readiness across all commercial functions, ensuring alignment of strategic priorities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify and mitigate launch risks while maximizing launch opportunities.
  • Monitor launch performance and rapidly adapt strategies based on market feedback and evolving customer needs.
  • Capture and institutionalize launch best practices that can be leveraged across future SERB launches.
  • Lead development of personal and non-personal promotional strategies that support customer engagement and brand growth.
  • Ensure all tactics support a cohesive customer experience and reinforce differentiated brand positioning.
  • Oversee development of promotional materials, campaigns, messaging platforms, and field engagement resources.
  • Drive customer-centric innovation through the application of market research, customer insights, and field feedback.
  • Lead annual congress strategy and execution planning in partnership with Medical Affairs and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Excellence to ensure integrated commercial planning and execution.
  • Develop strong relationships across the organization to align resources and accelerate decision making.
  • Collaborate with Global colleagues to ensure alignment where appropriate while maintaining focus on unique US market needs.
  • Influence without authority across multiple functions and leadership levels to deliver business objectives.
  • Lead annual brand planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Manage brand investments to maximize return while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Market Access and Value & Access stakeholders to ensure brand strategies appropriately reflect payer, reimbursement, and access considerations.
  • Partner with Finance and commercial leadership to evaluate resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Monitor brand performance against forecasts and recommend actions to optimize results.
  • Support development of long-range planning and growth forecasts for the franchise.
  • Lead agency selection, management, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure agency partners deliver high-quality strategic and executional support aligned with brand objectives.
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and contractors supporting commercial initiatives.
  • Oversee agency budgets, scopes of work, and project deliverables.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Provide clear direction, performance expectations, and development opportunities for team members.
  • Build organizational capabilities that support successful launch execution and long-term brand performance.
  • Serve as a role model for SERB's values and leadership expectations.
  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Partner with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure promotional activities are accurate, balanced, and appropriately reviewed.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical decision making throughout all marketing activities.
  • Ensure all interactions and engagements are conducted with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • 9+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive pharmaceutical marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership of pharmaceutical launch planning and execution, including successful cross-functional commercialization initiatives.
  • Proven success developing and executing brand strategies that drive measurable commercial performance.
  • Experience within specialty pharmaceuticals, rare disease, acute care, hospital-based products, or other complex markets strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights into differentiated growth strategies.
  • Experience leading direct reports and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budget management and forecasting experience.
  • Experience leading agencies and cross-functional teams in highly regulated environments.
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and organizational influence.
  • Experience utilizing market research, analytics, and performance metrics to guide decision making.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and operate effectively in dynamic growth environments.
  • Working knowledge of promotional review processes and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements, field interactions, leadership meetings, and congresses as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Launch experience with a first-in-class or highly specialized product.
  • Experience in cardiovascular, hematology, hospital, procedural medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, or specialty pharmaceutical markets.
  • Experience within a growth-stage or entrepreneurial biopharmaceutical organization.
  • MBA or advanced healthcare/business degree.
