About the role

The Director, Human Resource Business Partner at Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, translating business strategy into people plans. They advise on organization design, workforce planning, and succession planning to enhance team performance and build talent pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic HR advisor to senior leaders; translate business strategy into people plans.
  • Advise leadership on organization design, workforce planning, and succession planning to improve team performance and build pipelines for key functions/roles.
  • Partner with HR COEs (TA, L&D, HR Ops) to lead talent management, leadership development, performance management, and compensation processes with leaders and their groups/departments.
  • Provide executive oversight for complex employee relations matters and HR risk management.
  • Lead major change initiatives and culture efforts in partnership with COEs and business leaders.
  • Mentor and coach senior business leaders on team effectiveness, conflict management, and their own career development.
  • Use people analytics to assess organizational health and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of HRBP's.
  • Collaborate with HR COEs to design and deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Oversee complex employee relations escalations, ensuring fair outcomes and compliance with employment laws.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HRBP or equivalent role.
  • Proven experience advising and influencing executives and leaders on complex people and organizational issues.
  • Demonstrated success leading HR strategy and large-scale change or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong business and financial acumen; able to link HR strategies to business results.
  • Experience leading and developing HR teams.
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, employee relations, talent management, and change management.
  • Exceptional communication, consulting, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to utilize data-driven insights to tell stories and influence decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Experience establishing an HRBP model within an organization.
  • Experience working in the technology, data, media, publishing, or learning sectors.

Pay
