About the role
The Director, Human Resource Business Partner at Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, translating business strategy into people plans. They advise on organization design, workforce planning, and succession planning to enhance team performance and build talent pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic HR advisor to senior leaders; translate business strategy into people plans.
- Advise leadership on organization design, workforce planning, and succession planning to improve team performance and build pipelines for key functions/roles.
- Partner with HR COEs (TA, L&D, HR Ops) to lead talent management, leadership development, performance management, and compensation processes with leaders and their groups/departments.
- Provide executive oversight for complex employee relations matters and HR risk management.
- Lead major change initiatives and culture efforts in partnership with COEs and business leaders.
- Mentor and coach senior business leaders on team effectiveness, conflict management, and their own career development.
- Use people analytics to assess organizational health and drive data-informed decisions.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of HRBP's.
- Collaborate with HR COEs to design and deliver integrated HR solutions.
- Oversee complex employee relations escalations, ensuring fair outcomes and compliance with employment laws.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HRBP or equivalent role.
- Proven experience advising and influencing executives and leaders on complex people and organizational issues.
- Demonstrated success leading HR strategy and large-scale change or transformation initiatives.
- Strong business and financial acumen; able to link HR strategies to business results.
- Experience leading and developing HR teams.
- Deep knowledge of employment law, employee relations, talent management, and change management.
- Exceptional communication, consulting, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to utilize data-driven insights to tell stories and influence decision-making.
Qualifications
- Experience establishing an HRBP model within an organization.
- Experience working in the technology, data, media, publishing, or learning sectors.

Pay
