About the role
The Director of Healthcare Programs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for healthcare workforce development initiatives at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. This role is responsible for the growth, innovation, and sustainability of healthcare training and credentialing programs aligned with regional workforce needs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for healthcare workforce programs, including planning, growth, and resource management.
- Develop and expand healthcare training programs aligned with industry needs, workforce trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, industry leaders, and public agencies; negotiate contracts and training agreements.
- Oversee program budgets, grants, and financial performance to ensure sustainability and compliance.
- Supervise and support staff, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
- Monitor and analyze program outcomes (enrollment, completion, certification, job placement) to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure curriculum quality and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards (e.g., BON, NHA, SCHEV).
- Lead marketing, outreach, and stakeholder engagement efforts to promote programs and enhance community impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, education, or a related field.
- Significant experience in workforce development, healthcare education, or program management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising staff and managing complex operations.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with budgeting, grants, and financial oversight.
- Strong communication, partnership development, and organizational skills.
Additional Considerations
- Experience working with community colleges or workforce development organizations.
- Familiarity with Virginia workforce systems and FastForward programs.
- Experience developing employer partnerships and customized training programs.
- Knowledge of accreditation bodies such as BON, NHA, and SCHEV.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
