Director/Head Coach Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving

About the role

The Athletics Department at Marist University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Director and Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving. This position will report to the Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and recruitment of qualified student-athletes with the potential for academic and athletic success.
• Oversee the plan for each men’s and women’s swimming season, including competitive schedule and practices, i.e., scheduling facilities, administration of practice schedule, overseeing travel arrangements for away competition, any necessary communication with officials.
• Ensure compliance of the program with all NCAA, The Metro Conference, and Marist University rules, regulations, and policies.
• Supervise and evaluate head diving coach and assistant men’s and women’s swimming coaches and other staff as assigned.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of assistant coaches in recruiting, team management and practice and game planning.
• Manage operating budget. Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
• Assist as needed to raise funds to support the men’s and women’s swimming program and Department.
• Take part in scheduled compliance education sessions;
• Maintain Lifeguard Certification.
• Attend and participate, in full regalia, the undergraduate commencement ceremonies at the end of each academic year.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver's license with no serious convictions

$75,000 - $80,000
