Assistant Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Coach

Description

Responsible to assist with the management of a competitive NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving program; assists with conditioning, practices, recruiting, travel arrangements, and student managers. There are two positions: one position coaches primarily swimmers; the other position coaches primarily divers.

Examples of Duties

• Conducts regular team practice sessions
• Coaches the student athletes, evaluates athletes performance in practice and competition
• Makes recommendations for repairs or replacement of necessary athletic equipment and gear
• Works with department’s liaison to apparel company to order appropriate gear/uniforms
• Schedules, travel arrangements, budget preparation and monitoring, and maintains statistics
• Attends coaches’ preparatory meetings and implements strategies resulting from these meetings
• Full travel responsibilities for in-and-out of season
• Affords game management including setup, meet management and breakdown as needed

Typical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s Preferred
• Prior coaching experience at the college or club sports level or as a collegiate athlete
• First Aid, CPR, AED Required (or willingness to obtain)
• Lifeguarding Certification required
