Job Summary/Objective

The Director, HCP Marketing we are seeking is a highly experienced and strategic marketing professional to lead promotional strategy for VALTOCO. This role serves as the primary architect of the brand's HCP clinical narrative—shaping positioning and claims strategy to enable high-quality, compliant HCP engagement.

About the Role

This role operates within a highly cross-functional environment, partnering closely with Sales, Sales Training, Medical, Market Access, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial Operations to ensure the branded strategy is consistently and effectively activated.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the U.S. HCP promotional strategy, ensuring alignment to overall brand strategy and evolving market dynamics.

  • Develop and maintain HCP positioning, core narrative, messaging architecture, and claims strategy grounded in customer insights and clinical evidence.

  • Translate market research, competitive intelligence, and field feedback into clear, actionable strategic briefs that guide creative development and promotional execution.

  • Lead development of personal and non-personal promotion assets and field resources to enable high-impact engagements.

  • Drive end-to-end execution from concept through approval, production, and deployment—ensuring high quality, on-time delivery, and practical usability in the field.

  • Lead the field advisory committee and translate learnings into improvements across messaging, materials, and execution.

  • Partner with Sales and Sales Training to build launch and ongoing training that reinforces the brand story, clinical narrative, and compliant message delivery.

  • Define branded success metrics and translate insights and performance data into strategic decisions, driving ongoing optimization and measurable business impact.

  • Support the annual brand planning process, including development of the branded tactical roadmap, ensuring alignment to business priorities.

  • Lead national advisory boards by developing needs assessments, driving content creation and overseeing logistics.

  • Develop and implement tactical plans for speaker-related initiatives, including speaker bureau management, speaker training and content development meetings, product theaters and national webinars.

  • Lead agency partners and collaborate closely with internal team members, providing clear direction, feedback, and decision-making to drive high-quality execution and reduce rework.

  • Represent branded strategy in cross-functional and leadership settings, clearly articulating rationale to drive alignment and accelerate decision making.

  • Own the HCP and Professional Education (AOR) relationships, setting strategic direction and ensuring high-quality execution across HCP initiatives.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to a range of internal team members (i.e., executives, leadership team, sales).

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Manage HCP promotional budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources and maximize impact.

  • Strive for continuous improvement and embrace innovative ideas in daily work.

  • Experience owning HCP-facing marketing strategy and execution for pharmaceutical or biotech products in the US;

  • Expertise in branded strategy development, including messaging architecture and campaign development;

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Spends approximately 90% of work time sitting and meeting with others or working at a desk and/or computer. Spends approximately 10% of work time standing or walking within the work area or at meetings and bends, twists, stoops and reaches. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 30%, Overnight travel required?

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Public Health or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing, including at least 5+ years of direct experience marketing to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), with a strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and commercial environments within the pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, or other relevant graduate degree) preferred.

  • Marketing experience in epilepsy or neuroscience.
