Director, GTM Technical Delivery
About the role
The Director of GTM Technical Delivery is a critical leadership position at Workiva. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this role combines technical vision with hands-on management to drive innovation and efficiency across sales, marketing, and partner operations.
Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership: Establish clear direction and measurable outcomes for the GTM Systems team, fostering a culture of execution and accountability.
Architect and Scale: Define technical architecture and system design patterns for the GTM stack, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and flexibility.
Lead Team Development: Hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent, providing clear expectations, regular coaching, and career development opportunities.
API and Integration Strategy: Own integration design using best practices for APIs, event-driven architecture, and middleware tools like Workato, ensuring reusable, scalable connectors and efficient system orchestration.
AI for GTM: Stay current on AI applications across the GTM tech stack, introducing intelligent solutions that improve speed or quality, and embed AI into the technical team's daily practice.
DevOps Ownership: Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and efficient deployment processes, guiding infrastructure and automation standards in partnership with the DevOps Engineer and QA team.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with business-facing Product Owners (BSAs), SalesOps, MarketingOps, and partner teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Innovation and Technical Strategy: Identify emerging technologies and define long-term platform direction, influencing broader GTM systems strategy and shaping the future roadmap.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise or SaaS engineering roles, including 5+ in a technical leadership capacity.
- Proven experience leading high-performing, cross-functional technical teams, with a track record of building culture, trust, and accountability.
- Strong background in GTM applications—especially Salesforce, CPQ, and marketing automation (Marketo preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in technical architecture, systems design, and integration planning.
- Deep understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, system interconnectivity, and security best practices.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with middleware platforms (e.g., Workato, Mulesoft).
- Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in a GTM context (lead scoring, enrichment, chat, etc.).
- Experience embedding meaningful AI practices across the technical teams (devs, admins, QA), helping improve the efficiency and efficacy of the team.
- Experience in Agile development and modern DevOps tooling (GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing).
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Master's Degree in related field.
Benefits
Salary range in the US: $177,000.00 - $284,000.00
