Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive, proactive 3-year global quality strategy that delivers year-over-year improvements in current model, future model quality, warranty performance and cost of quality.
- Align across all regions and tie to Global Business Plan.
- Develop global business unit score card, reporting quality, launch and warranty status by region, plant & program.
- Report minimum monthly on aggressive monthly, quarterly and annual predictive quality metrics & performance objectives, deploy globally.
- Develop 3-year quality training & development plan for affected quality persons, tied to employee performance.
- Mitigate risk of any off-track quality metrics/deliverables with the execution of appropriate corrective action plans and glide paths.
- Develop prevent recurrence strategy, ensuring executive review all systemic learnings and engrain in quality processes globally.
- Proactively communicate status and plans to leadership through time and data management process.
- Actively participate in Program Reviews, Phase Exit Reviews, and Line Certifications in alignment with program timing.
- Single voice of quality to the customer, acting as the primary point of contact for responding to quality issues, potential Product Safety Concerns (PPSC), Quality Key measures performance and other “Customer Specific” initiatives.
- Develop key relationships with customers related to Quality.
- Ensure successful implementation of Adient Quality Systems and continued certification to / compliance with IATF 16949, including customer specific requirements.
- Execute Annual Employee Development Plans, Performance Reviews, and succession plans for each AQE or AQM in the Business Unit, aligned with each region.
- Participate in the quoting process to ensure appropriate quality equipment, processes, resources and objectives are considered prior to receiving the business award.
- Support Supplier Management Quality Reviews (i.e. MQR 1, 2, 3) in accordance with the Adient MQR Work Instruction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area required (or equivalent experience).
- Master’s degree Preferred.
- Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including IATF 16949, VDA, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, SPC, 8D & APQP.
- Experience leading complex quality organizations.
- Previous experience in developing global quality strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments, and advanced problem-solving methodologies.
- Certified in Six Sigma is preferred.
- Professional Certification in Quality Engineering/Quality Management preferred.
