DIRECTOR, FOODBUY CLIENT SOLUTIONS (CHARLOTTE, NC)

About the role
The Director of Foodbuy Client Solutions leads the strategy, delivery, and expansion of third-party solutions that support Foodbuy members. This role oversees relationships with the third-party solution portfolio, leads the team that trains internal stakeholders and members on those solutions, and drives the identification of new member solution needs. The Director serves as the connective tissue between members, third-party providers, and internal Foodbuy teams to ensure solutions are relevant, well-adopted, and value-generating.
Responsibilities
- Third-Party Solution Portfolio Management
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Foodbuy's third-party member technology solutions—from evaluation and onboarding through performance management and renewal.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for existing and prospective third-party providers, negotiating commercial and operational terms in partnership with Legal, Finance, and Category teams.
- Member Solution Identification & Engagement
- Engage directly with members to identify unmet needs and emerging opportunities where third-party and internal solution adoption can create value.
- Partner with member-facing teams to translate feedback into a prioritized pipeline of new solutions, validated through market scans and pilots.
- Training Program Leadership
- Oversee the training strategy and delivery model for third-party solutions—covering both internal teams and member customers.
- Lead the team responsible for content development, live and on-demand delivery, and adoption measurement; establish KPIs for training effectiveness (utilization, satisfaction, time-to-proficiency).
- Team Management & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team accountable for solution management, member engagement, and training delivery.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and member-centricity; ensure clear roles, performance expectations, and development pathways.
- Strategic Partnership Development
- Identify and cultivate new third-party providers aligned with Foodbuy's strategic priorities and member needs.
- Represent Foodbuy at industry events and vendor forums to build a robust partnership pipeline; evaluate partners on member fit, commercial viability, and integration feasibility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Champion collaboration across Foodbuy to ensure consistent solution delivery.
- Partner with Foodbuy Product and Technology teams to ensure integration readiness and operational scalability.
- Performance Monitoring & Governance
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance frameworks that track solution adoption, member satisfaction, revenue impact, and training effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and lead change management efforts to support adoption of new solutions and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, partnership management, or member/client solutions—foodservice, GPO, or procurement experience strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience.
- Proven track record building third-party partnerships and scaling training/enablement programs for internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise communication and training initiatives that enable successful implementation and sustained user adoption.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and executive communication skills; demonstrated ability to influence across functions and levels.
- Regular attendance in Charlotte office for meetings and client engagement as needed.
- Travel as needed (less than 25% of the time).
