Job Description
The Director of Maintenance and Facilities role at Silfex Inc., a subsidiary of Lam Research, involves overseeing the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities systems. This position requires a strong leader with extensive experience in manufacturing processes, problem-solving, and strategic planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and manage the facilities and maintenance annual budget and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and implement strategic leadership and vision for multiple sites.
- Implement and oversee the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
- Identify and drive business/process improvements that reduce waste and improve operational quality.
- Oversee and/or execute Capital Improvement projects including machine installation, renovation, and expansion.
- Develop and maintain a five-year plan for all facilities based on new process requirements and maintenance planning.
- Initiate and maintain the Facilities Capital list including recommendations for equipment replacements.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
- Review building designs and monitor progress of projects.
- Confer with internal and external resources to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Manufacturing System and the Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
- Perform all work-related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management.

- Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in a large manufacturing operation in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Maintenance discipline.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, problem solving, and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated experience driving and maintaining a zero-accident safety culture.
- Demonstrated experience implementing various manufacturing improvements including 5S, TPM, SMED, and Lean principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to utilize computer applications such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Manufacturing software, and Database software. AutoCAD preferred but not required.
