Director, Epic Business Applications

Job Summary

The Director, Epic Business Applications at Xtensys is responsible for leading the Epic business applications team, ensuring service delivery and upgrades, and managing client support. Key responsibilities include setting vision and objectives, supervising staff, developing and managing budgets, and collaborating with clinical and business leadership.

About the Role

Xtensys is a fast-growing managed service provider focused on advancing rural and community healthcare. This role is part of the application division senior leadership team and involves managing various Epic business applications and third-party services.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall leadership for the business applications department(s).
• Communicates with clinical & business leadership, IS leadership, and staff.
• Develops models and staffing resources to meet customer needs.
• Supervises, coaches, and develops staff.
• Manages department budget.
• Ledges and facilitates planning for emerging business requirements.
• Maintains departmental standards of excellence.
• Supports the integration of information security in application development and implementation.
• Manages resources providing application support.
• Prepares and submits reports detailing performance and investigates unfavorable variances.

Requirements

• Minimum of (10) years’ expertise working with and supporting Epic Business Applications.
• Minimum of (5) years’ experience as a manager/director in Information Systems overseeing Epic application teams.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant Epic Business Applications and some business operations experience.
• Robust understanding of compliance with all enterprise and Xtensys departmental information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Strong ability to support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store Xtensys and its customers’ information.
• Strong desire to support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations.
• Prioritizes and adjusts initiatives in response to organizational, regulatory, or market-driven changes.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to function well in administrative, management, and patient care environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s degree and Epic certification are preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and support others to create a positive working environment.

Benefits

Work arrangement is mostly remote but may require onsite support within Hospitals, Clinics or Business centers that align with project implementation timelines. This position requires up to 15% travel to align with project milestones and Xtensys needs.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Normal business hours with occasional after-hours support during project implementations.
