Director, Enterprise Applications and Integrations (On-Site Position)
Position Summary
The Director, Enterprise Applications & Integrations is responsible for the vision, architecture, and continuous improvement of New River Electrical’s business systems landscape. This individual will lead the application strategy for both SaaS and custom-built applications, ensuring they align with broader business objectives and the distinct operational needs of both our corporate and field-based workforce.
Duties/Responsibilities
Define and maintain a comprehensive multi-year application roadmap that supports NREC’s growth, security, and operational efficiency for both office and field environments
Lead application architecture design, ensuring all systems (SaaS and custom) are scalable, secure, and interoperable across the enterprise
Evaluate current business systems to identify gaps and opportunities for modernization, specifically focusing on bridging the gap between field-to-office workflows
Help lead the discovery and requirements-gathering phases for potential enterprise-scale system updates, including ERP and other core business applications
Conduct "build vs. buy" analyses to ensure technology investments provide maximum value and alignment with NREC’s specialized operational requirements
Develop and oversee a robust systems integration strategy to ensure seamless, real-time data flow between corporate SaaS platforms, field-based mobile tools, and custom applications
Manage the delivery and maintenance of custom-built applications, ensuring high-quality code and alignment with specialized business workflows
Identify and implement opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate workflows and accelerate the delivery of business applications
Build and lead a high-performing team capable of delivering integrated business systems through a strategic combination of internal and external resources
Manage relationships with external vendors and contract resources, ensuring quality delivery on time and within budget
Coordinate with external partners to ensure application performance aligns with organizational operational standards
Serve as a primary IT liaison, translating complex technical concepts into clear strategic updates for corporate leadership and field operations management
Partner with department heads to understand operational pain points and identify how technology can drive process improvements for employees regardless of their physical work location
Drive change management initiatives to ensure high adoption rates for any new system or process rollouts across the entire workforce
Qualifications
10+ years in Information Technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role specifically focused on enterprise applications and strategy
Experience in the construction industry or supporting a diverse workforce with significant field-based (non-office) operations is strongly preferred
Proven track record of managing complex SaaS ecosystems and leading large-scale system evaluations or implementations
Strong understanding of modern integration patterns and experience with iPaaS solutions
Strategic understanding of how to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI tools to accelerate application development, streamline systems integration, and drive operational automation
Experience managing hybrid teams consisting of internal staff and external strategic partners/contractors
Exceptional ability to communicate technical roadmaps, business cases, and project risks to non-technical business executives
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred
Travel Expected travel of 10% to 20% to visit regional offices, field sites, or attend vendor/industry conferences as needed
