Director Dental Services - Correctional Health (25K Retention Bonus)

About the Role

The Dental Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to dental patients, as well as administrative duties, for the Harris County Jail. This position is 80% clinical and 20% administrative.

Responsibilities

Administrative duties include:

• Quality assurance program
• Policy and procedure creation/review
• Dental standards of care and protocol implementation
• Monitoring benchmarks

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Services (DDS) degree required
• Advanced training (GPR, AEGD) preferred
• Texas State Board of Dental Examiners certification required
• Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP) certification to be completed within one year, if not held at the time of appointment

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Three years of direct dental services experience
• Two years of experience with oversight of dentists and dental assistants
• Above average verbal communication skills, with exceptional public speaking skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
