Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain fully equipped treatment rooms
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments efficiently

Qualifications

About The Role
The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Dental Assistant to work at the Utah State Correctional Facility. The position requires coordination of client services, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, documenting information, maintaining inventory, educating patients, and delivering exceptional patient care.
The position involves preparing and maintaining treatment rooms, scheduling appointments, assisting the dentist, sterilizing instruments, maintaining patient records, ensuring treatment rooms are clean, monitoring and restocking supplies, and educating patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene. It also includes working around operating machines, dealing with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and similar activities.
The successful candidate must successfully pass a DHHS background check, pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening. Certification in radiology and CPR is required, along with certifications per the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Practice Act, Title 58, chapter 69, and Dentist and Dental Hygienist Practice Act Rule R156-69-603. Special safety precautions and equipment may be required depending on the nature of the work.
