San Quentin Rehabilitation Center (SQRC) is California's oldest and best known correctional institution, established in July 1852 at Point San Quentin. Located in desirable Marin County across the bay from San Francisco, the center offers access to Napa Valley wineries, north‑coast beaches, and numerous hiking and biking trails. The department’s vision is to enhance public safety and promote successful community reintegration through education, treatment, and active participation in rehabilitative and restorative justice programs. Responsibilities
- Perform supportive dental procedures under the guidelines of the Dental Board of California Dental Practice Act and CDCR Incarcerated Dental Services Program (IDSP) policies and procedures.
- Assist in the related work of a dental office.
- Maintain order and supervise the conduct of incarcerated individuals and direct their duties.
- Protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.
- Work under the general supervision of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility (CF) and/or Supervising Dental Assistant, CF, and the clinical direction of the Dentist, CF.
Requirements
- Must pass the CalCareers examination for Dental Assistant, CF to obtain list eligibility before applying.
- Individuals eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.
