About the Role
Direct the day-to-day operations of the dental program while supervising department staff and performing general dentistry duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general dentistry
- Provide accurate diagnosis and treatment of all problems
- Refer patients needing additional care to other oral health specialists
- Work collaboratively with the CBHS PI Coordinator to regularly monitor patient satisfaction and perform one PDSA cycle each year
- Keep support staff on task at times when no patients are scheduled for appointments
- Supervise support staff
- Maintain records on all patients that have been assessed and treated
- Complete dental staff annual reviews
- Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures for the clinical operations of the department
- Develop and maintain administrative policies and procedures specific to the dental program
- Establish and maintain a teaching affiliation with the University of Maryland Dental School
- Report monthly utilization statistics to supervisor on a timely basis
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited dental school
- Minimum of 5 years of practice experience post dental school
- 2 years prior experience in a supervisory role
