Director of Food Service

About the role

This is a highly visible, enterprise-level role that blends strategy, field execution, and leadership influence. You’ll work closely with senior executives while also spending meaningful time in stores, coaching teams, and ensuring our food program is executed at the highest level. You’ll shape direction and make sure it actually happens in the field.

Royal Farms is a 320+ store, high-growth convenience retailer opening ~20 new locations annually. Our food program is what sets us apart, and this role sits at the center of that momentum.

Responsibilities

• The performance and evolution of Royal Farms’ food service program across 320+ locations
• Driving consistency, quality, and operational excellence in a fast-paced retail environment
• Leading and developing teams who execute at scale in the field
• Partnering with executive leadership to define and refine strategy
• Translating strategy into clear, executable standards that drive results

Qualifications

This role is a strong fit if you:

• Have led multi-unit food service or restaurant operations at scale (regional, divisional, or enterprise level)
• Are equally comfortable in a boardroom and in-store, coaching teams on execution
• Know how to scale systems and standards across hundreds of locations
• Are energized by growth and can operate effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment
• Bring a strong point of view and can influence senior leadership while staying grounded in operational reality

This role will likely not be a fit if you:

• Prefer purely strategic roles without field engagement
• Haven’t led large, multi-location food service operations
• Struggle in environments where priorities evolve quickly
• Prefer highly structured, slow-moving organizations
