Job Description
This role is responsible for developing the company's strategy and leading key strategic initiatives. It manages business modeling and long-range planning, assesses economic viability, and directs environmental scans for strategic positioning.
Comms Strategy
- Define with Creative Strategy and creative leads to translate campaign ideas into campaign ecosystems and fresh, channel-native activations.
- Co-develop channel-native ideas with creatives: bring platform behaviors, formats, best practices and audience context into concept development, helping teams get to ideas, not just adaptations.
- Stress-test and sharpen executions early: ensure the campaign idea holds up across touchpoints (social, OLV, audio, OOH) and identify where the idea needs new mechanics to travel.
- Set direction for how channels are used creatively across campaigns in new, imaginative ways of how to use channels, find unconventional ones, and partner with Comms Planning + Media to make this possible.
- Bring deep understanding of partner ecosystems, emerging platforms and the spaces where our audiences spend time to creative teams to spark new thinking.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the senior Communications Strategy lead partnering with Comms Planning + Media.
- Ownership across Pods of aligning campaign messaging with media placements, audience mindset, and platform behaviors, ensuring creative and media decisions reinforce each other.
- Accountable for translating EBI insights, creative effectiveness signals, and cross-channel performance into actionable comms strategy decisions, recommendations, and future campaign guidance across the channels.
- Shape the marketing communications agenda across pods, ensuring campaign activity is connected and cohesive across the pods – being the 'ground-up' voice that drives marketing alignment.
Ideal Background
- 10+ years in comms planning / comms strategy, ideally in an in-house agency and/or creative agency environment. This is not a media role.
- Strong cross-channel fluency and ability to systematize (framework builder).
- Confident collaborator with creative teams; clear communicator and presenter.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
