Director, Clinical Programs (Clinical Enterprise)

About the role

The Clinical Program Director is responsible for directing the clinical strategy, portfolio of clinical solutions, outcomes, and tracking for specified clinical programs. This role will establish and maintain cross-functional partnerships with capability owners to drive successful program execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Renal Clinical Innovation vision: Work to shape the vision for Clinical Innovation that enables high-quality patient care and demonstrates improvement in quality and outcomes.
  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities and generate plans to address each.
  • Develop, analyze, and communicate business models to guide business decisions, promoting data-driven strategic change.
  • Build out and manage strategic and enterprise planning team daily and lead enterprise-wide strategy meetings.
  • Define, track, and communicate metrics around new initiatives, comparing to previous outcomes.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data into critical insights, observations, or trends and translate them into strategic recommendations.
  • Project manage and streamline communication across multidisciplinary teams both large and small.
  • Cultivate networks: Initiate and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of the organization to advance clinical and financial goals.
  • Evaluate department processes and procedures; suggest and implement methods to minimize labor costs and improve operations, efficiency, and service to internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate strategic priorities into operational reality; align communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
  • Set high goals for personal and team accomplishments and use measurement methods to monitor progress toward goal attainment.
  • Establish two-way communication channels to convey business strategies and plans in a manner that engages teammates.
  • Ensure those responsible for implementing a strategic initiative have role clarity and accountability for required actions and outputs as well as the authority to act in a way consistent with our mission and values.
  • Translate initiatives into actions; deliver on the core business drivers (clinical and financial).
  • Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to individuals and groups in a variety of situations; communicate in a focused and compelling way that drives others' thoughts and actions.
  • Present ideas, suggestions, and recommendations in a manner that clearly links to business and/or Village needs and priorities.
  • Facilitate outcome-oriented communication; state action-oriented purpose; provide clear explanation of relevant facts and present well-prepared case; move communication toward agreed-upon actions; adapt communication style based on the people involved and the target objectives; negotiate with others using business rationale to influence decisions and effectively handle objections.
  • Manage departmental labor budget and miscellaneous expenses.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) preferred.
  • Leadership: Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience required, with a demonstrated track record of leading teams.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Specialized Experience: Background in consulting is strongly preferred.

  • Identifies, creates, monitors, and maintains key performance indicators including but not limited to teammate productivity, quality audits, and departmental service level agreements.
  • Evaluates department processes and procedures; suggests and implements methods to minimize labor costs and improve operations, efficiency, and service to internal and external customers.
  • Translates strategic priorities into operational reality; aligns communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
  • Takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required and manages competing priorities.
