About the role
Lead the civil and building engineering functions for fairlife’s expanding manufacturing and distribution footprint. Oversee site development, facility design, construction, and capital-project execution across multiple greenfield and brownfield sites in North America.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a long-range capital plan for civil and building infrastructure that aligns with fairlife’s growth strategy.
- Direct the full project lifecycle—feasibility, permitting, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close-out—for new plants, expansions, and renovations.
- Manage a team of engineers, architects, and contractors; establish standards, best practices, and KPIs for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for all civil and building deliverables, reporting to the VP of Engineering and collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, zoning, and environmental regulations.
- Optimize total cost of ownership through life-cycle analysis, value engineering, and sustainable design principles.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery speed, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field; PE license strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in civil/structural engineering and capital-project leadership, with at least 5 years in a director-level role.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale industrial or food-and-beverage facilities in North America.
- Deep expertise in site development, grading, utilities, foundations, structural steel, building envelopes, and MEP coordination.
- Familiarity with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and local permitting processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and project-management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Strong financial acumen; ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and complex contracts.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
