GAI Consultants is seeking a motivated leader to contribute to the growth and expansion of the civil engineering practice in the Ohio River Valley Region. The role focuses on both private and public projects, including master-planned developments, residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects that require civil expertise and integration with other GAI disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sales and client management for existing and new strategic clients.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support and execute GAI’s multi-disciplined efforts in the greater Ohio River Valley Region.
  • Work with technical and proposal staff to develop responses for cost proposals, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
  • Develop project management plans to ensure effective deliverables, budget control, and schedule adherence, maximizing client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Negotiate or assist with negotiating contracts.
  • Contribute to annual strategic and tactical planning for the market and company.
  • Enhance GAI's public profile by participating in leadership roles within the community and professional organizations.
  • Support plan preparation, scope compliance, and task scheduling.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of local agencies (Cities, Counties, and Authorities) for review and approval processes.
  • Prepare weekly updates to backlog and manpower reports.
  • Assess engineering economic analyses and risks associated with complex engineering solutions.
  • Evaluate solutions to complex problems involving multiple engineering specialty areas.
  • Advocate for ethical behavior and resolve ethical dilemmas in engineering practice.
  • Perform advisory or consulting work across broad project areas or within specialized, innovative, and complex aspects.
  • Assess practices and requirements for sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.
  • Evaluate project management plans for complex engineering projects and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead critical projects and develop strategies for staff development through mentorship, continuing education, and self-development.
  • Foster professional attitudes within the practice.
  • Negotiate critical and controversial issues with leadership across practices.
  • Represent the practice at key functions and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (Master’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering, with 5 years in the local market preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Indiana or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Knowledge of civil drainage, grading, and utilities.
  • Capability in sales to support the team.
