Responsibilities

  • Lead the Program Management team and support strategies that maximize access to therapies.
  • Drive best-in-class solutions while maintaining budget and program efficiencies.
  • Maintain a high level of collaboration and integration with field teams, Brand Marketing, Training, Market Access & Public Affairs, Trade, Legal, Compliance, Finance, HEOR, and Market Research.
  • Collaborate and innovate with key cross-functional stakeholders including MAPA and Marketing on operationalizing innovative strategies and evolving the overarching Patient Support Solutions (PSS) strategy for Wegovy.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing & Market Access teams to ensure the design and execution of high-impact program strategies that support patients.
  • Responsible for communication and engagement strategies between field sales, marketing and reimbursement support partners to ensure awareness and escalation of reported issues and customer concerns.
  • Support all current and future launch products, including developing the post-script optimal patient journey and leadership of Patient Support HUB suppliers.
  • Assess competitor services and market dynamics to anticipate future trends related to market offerings and consumer/user behavior needs and expectations, and develop and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Lead the strategy, development and ongoing optimization of patient and HCP Patient Support Program communications, education and database related to Patient Assistance Programs (PAP).
  • Function as subject matter expert on patient support solutions and collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement programs that compliantly support the company’s patient support objectives for inline and launching brands.
  • Oversee existing patient support programs and manage the team responsible for day-to-day operations with a focus on operational excellence in support of the patient journey.
  • Oversee development of SOPs and business rules related to all US patient support and ensure adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend key customer meetings to proactively remain up to date on changes and related needs for patient support.
  • Develop recommendations and lead the team to implement program changes to ensure ongoing compliance, industry competitiveness and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of Patient Solutions technology.

Relationships

Reports to the Senior Director, Patient Support Solutions.

  • Key internal relationships: brand marketing, market access, commercial insights and analytics, sales, medical/CMR, legal, compliance, and regulatory.
  • Other internal relationships: Public Affairs, Government Affairs & US Corp Giving & Social Impact.
  • External relationships: patient/caregiver consultants and key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional organizations, customers and patient support service providers and organizations.

Physical Requirements

  • 10–20% overnight travel required.

Development of People

  • Supervisory responsibility: ensure reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP) with annual goals and measurements aligned to business priorities, and conduct interim reviews so staff understand accountability and measurement processes.
  • Ensure IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans for all direct reports to enable goal achievement and capability building for increased responsibility.
  • Manage application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive business, marketing and/or sales/operations experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience with patient support hubs, specialty pharmacies and/or healthcare institutions required.
  • Customer-facing experience required.
  • Cardiometabolic/diabetes/obesity experience desired.
  • Agency/vendor management experience required.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on cross-functional teams required.
  • Must anticipate problems and roadblocks to avoid crisis management.
  • Proven track record of developing accurate short- and long-term business plans, results and follow-up.
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical marketplace including legal, medical, regulatory and clinical processes.
  • Develops accurate short- and long-term plans, forecasting and business analysis; ensures timely execution and follow-up; meets deadlines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.

Pay

The base compensation range for this position is $187,000 to $300,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and/or company vehicles depending on the position’s level or other company factors.
