About the role

As the Director of Capability Enablement, you will guide the creation of effective and engaging learning experiences for Cargill’s global HR and Law, Compliance and Corporate Affairs (LCCA) workforce. Partnering closely with HR, L&D, and business stakeholders, you will analyze functional learning needs, develop a vision and plan for building capabilities, and oversee the development and deployment of learning curriculum to close capability or performance gaps. This role leverages deep knowledge of the functions’ needs, facilitates tradeoff conversations among stakeholders, and ensures learning experiences are measurable, scalable, and drive performance-focused skill development. You will also oversee vendors and ensure instructional design principles and learning technologies are effectively integrated within the Cargill ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design and develop highly complex learning experiences for HR and LCCA, evaluating organizational strengths and weaknesses to identify learning objectives, reviewing current programs, analyzing performance impacts, and incorporating improvements.
  • Program Implementation: Develop and deploy learning and development strategies, methodologies, tools, and processes to identify high-potential talent, facilitate discussions, and deliver insights to critical partners.
  • Program Administration: Administer learning programs, ensuring alignment with objectives, use of multimedia content, and effectiveness of quality assurance checks to enhance the learning experience.
  • Learning Experience Development: Apply instructional design principles to create engaging, interactive learning experiences, review learning needs analysis, approve instructional strategies, and ensure content is logically structured.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to provide thought leadership, ensure content accuracy, and align learning experiences with objectives.
  • Program Analysis: Evaluate learning solution effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and metrics, and partner with teams to enhance future design iterations using best practices, industry trends, and user feedback.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with vendors and stakeholders to stay updated on learning technologies, tools, and methodologies, and integrate them into instructional design and delivery, including LMS platforms and authoring tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 6+ years of relevant work experience (typically 10+ years preferred).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-wide learning and development programs.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes across stakeholders without direct authority.
    • Experience leading change management initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
    • Experience leveraging learning technologies, LMS platforms, and digital learning solutions.
    • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with senior leaders and executive audiences.
    • Experience managing multiple learning programs or portfolios with competing priorities.
    • Background working within an HR function.
    • Experience driving AI adoption and capability-building initiatives.
    • Familiarity with capability academies.
    • Ability to build and foster communities of practice.
    • Experience measuring behavior change and business impact.

Location

This role is based in Wayzata, Minnesota.

Pay

The expected salary for this position is $150,000 - $195,000, depending on factors such as location, certifications, education, and experience. This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive award based on company and personal performance.
