About the Role
We are seeking a business development professional to drive growth across the U.S. market. This is an opportunity to play a key role in expanding Opus' presence within the investment management community, working directly with fund managers and industry influencers to develop new business opportunities and long-term partnerships. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to build relationships, shape market strategy, and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of a global, entrepreneurial organization.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, consultants, law firms, auditors, prime brokers, and other industry players.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with emerging and established investment managers, managing opportunities from initial introduction through contract execution.
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, intermediaries, and referral sources to generate new business opportunities and revenue growth.
- Represent Opus at industry events, conferences, networking functions, and client meetings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding and long-term client success.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and evolving client needs to help shape our commercial strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven success in business development, sales, relationship management, or client acquisition within financial services.
- Strong network and credibility within the investment management industry.
- Experience working with hedge funds, private markets firms, asset managers, fund administrators, prime brokers, or related service providers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Schedule
During your initial months, you may participate in more frequent in-office training designed to build your knowledge, confidence, and connections. As you become established in your role, you will transition to our hybrid working model, currently consisting of 3 days per week in the office, offering both flexibility and continued collaboration.
