Direct Support Professional - (Stillwater Area)

Job Summary

The Direct Support Professional will provide non-medical care, including supervision and assistance, to help individuals achieve increased independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community.

Essential Job Duties

• Aid in daily living activities such as cooking/meal preparation, showering, and personal care.
• Support the person in becoming more independent and involved in their community through outings.
• Assist with walks and supervision while at home and in the community.
• Complete detailed, accurate documentation as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment.
• Implement individualized care plans and ensure individual's rights are respected.
• Provide companionship and engage individuals in recreational activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school degree or GED (or equivalent education).
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Minnesota DHS background study clearance.
• Wi-Fi-enabled device for work-related purposes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Age 18 or older.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in working with persons with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of person-centered care approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards.
• Ability to serve as an ambassador of Accord in the community.

Benefits
