About the role
The Direct Support Professional Senior (Behavior Modification Assistant) is responsible for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in assessing individual's needs by performing direct care duties.
- Developing and implementing residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods.
- Evaluating and documenting outcomes, maintaining or modifying the plans and performing related work as required.
- Responding therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports to individuals with challenging behaviors.
Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional Senior, you will:
- Support individuals in short- and long-term housing programs.
- Ensure the people we serve achieve their highest quality of life and personal growth.
- Collaborate with community members, employers, and teams to understand and communicate complex services.
- Assist in assessing individual's needs by performing direct care duties.
- Develop and implement residential and habilitation support plans with goals and methods.
- Evaluate and document outcomes, maintaining or modifying the plans and performing related work as required.
- Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports to individuals with challenging behaviors.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnosis.
- Have experience with verbal de-escalation strategies and working with individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors.
- Have clear communication skills to understand and communicate complex services with community members, employers, and teams.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Maintain basic math and computer skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Be able to perform all physical/essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Formal training/certification/education in related fields such as CNA, PCA, Child Development, First Aid, CPR, etc.
- Certified Nursing Assistant experience working in a group home, nursing home, assisted living, or similar setting.

Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position is $24.54, with a potential maximum of $31.43 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts available include:
- Day shifts.
- Rotating day/evening combinations.
- Overnight shifts.
Shift differential is offered for hours between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
