About the role
The Direct Support Professional Senior job class supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in assessing individual needs
- Developing and implementing residential and habilitation support plans
- Evaluating and documenting outcomes
- Maintaining or modifying plans
- Responding therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports
Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional Senior, you will:
- Support individuals in short- and long-term housing programs
- Assist in assessing individual needs
- Implement and modify support plans
- Evaluate and document outcomes
- Respond therapeutically to challenging behaviors
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses
- Be able to communicate effectively with community members, employers, and teams
- Have basic math and computer skills
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Be able to perform physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Formal training or certification in related fields such as CNA, PCA, Child Development, First Aid, CPR, etc.
- Certified Nursing Assistant experience in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or similar settings
Skills
Essential skills for this role include:
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to assess and respond to individual needs
- Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports
- Basic math and computer skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $54- $31.43 per hour.
Schedule
Shifts available include:
- Day
- Rotating (day/evening combination)
- Overnight
Shift differential is offered for hours between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
