About the role
The Direct Support Professional Senior (Behavior Modification Assistant) is responsible for supporting individuals in short- and long-term housing programs. These individuals may have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, brain injury, and other emotional, behavioral, and medical complexities. Key responsibilities include assessing individual needs, developing and implementing support plans, evaluating outcomes, and responding therapeutically to challenging behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Assess individual needs through direct care duties
- Develop and implement residential and habilitation support plans
- Evaluate and document outcomes, modify plans as needed
- Respond therapeutically using de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports
- Support individuals in various settings including medical appointments, community outings, recreational activities, and spiritual events
- Ensure individuals achieve their highest quality of life and personal growth
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and/or co-occurring diagnoses
- Experience with verbal de-escalation strategies and working with individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors
- Clear communication skills to understand and communicate complex services with community members, employers, and teams
- Basic math and computer skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to perform all physical/essential requirements with or without reasonable accommodation(s)

Pay
- $24.54 - $31.43/hour
Schedule
- Days/Evenings/Overnights/Rotating Shifts
- Shift Differential for hours between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am
