Direct Support Professional - SCL PRN

About the role

Wendell Foster is interested in hiring energetic Direct Support Professionals for their Supports for Community Living Department. The position is part-time and open to experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

• Understands the individuals' rights and displays respect and dignity when interacting with the individuals.
• Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals and implements the plan of care.
• Reports any suspected form of abuse according to the departmental policy.
• Serves as a member of the individual's plan of care team.
• Provides physical assistance.
• Trains residents on achieving their chosen outcomes.
• Assists with daily living activities such as walking, dressing, personal hygiene, eating, using the toilet, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting, financial assistance, home care, and cleaning.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must complete all training required by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and obtain certification in CPR and first aid (training provided).
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Experienced in direct support roles.
• Ability to drive facility vehicles.
