Direct Support Professional- On Call

About your Role

You will provide care, support and skills-training to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges. You will foster positive relationships, ensure client safety, and maintain a safe environment. You will assist with medication administration (with proper training), encourage self-help activities, perform home management tasks, help plan meals, run errands, and accompany clients to scheduled appointments.

Responsibilities

• Foster positive relationships between caretakers and individuals served
• Ensure client safety and maintain a safe environment
• Assist with medication administration (with proper training)
• Encourage self-help activities
• Perform home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
• Help clients plan meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food/meals, feed and clean-up
• Accompany clients to scheduled appointments and in running errands if needed (approved drivers only)
• Support clients with social skills and integration into the community

Requirements

• A High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
