About the role

Aurora Community Services is an employee‑owned, mission‑driven agency that supports adults with cognitive and mental health disabilities in residential group homes. The role involves helping consumers live fuller, happier lives and empowering independence. Paid training is provided and no prior experience is required for caregiver positions.

Pay

Base wage: $17 per hour. Weekend shift differential: $1.50 per hour.

Schedule

Flexible scheduling based on availability, with every other weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Seek out opportunities for community/social integration
• Help consumers plan and prepare their choices of fun events and outings
• Assist with self‑care activities (dressing, bathing or showering, brushing teeth, toileting, shaving)
• Medication administration
• Meal preparation and planning
• Transportation of consumers
• Follow individual service plans
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years
• Acceptable background character verification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to twist, turn, squat, bend, reach, pull, push from high/low position, raise arms above shoulder, walk, sit (chair and floor), climb stairs, and use hands and fingers
• Communicate basic English
• Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills
