About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives within the community. This role is part of our Residential Services program and reports to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in developing life skills, fostering independence, and engaging in community activities.
• Implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each person served.
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and community events.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of services provided and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all individuals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in caregiving, support work, or a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet other employment requirements.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
