Direct Support Professional - Midshore

About the role

The Personal Support Assistant will support one or more people living in their own home or in their family’s home located in a suburban or rural community. The role supports each person's life choices and facilitates opportunities to build relationships and participate fully in their communities.

Responsibilities

• Support people with disabilities by facilitating and promoting independence, self-advocacy, and decision making.
• Foster independence and personal growth.
• Provide respectful, individualized support.
• Use technology to complete documentation and communication tasks.
• Build trust, promote self-confidence, and communicate professionally with individuals, families, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and creative in approach.
• Experience providing respectful, individualized support.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid Maryland Driver’s License with no egregious violations.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience supporting people with disabilities preferred.
