Direct Support Professional - Independent Contractor (AB)

About the role

InReach provides a wide variety of services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Independent Contractor – to support a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (ZIP 28215). The role involves providing Community Living and Support and Respite Services for 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
• Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
• Facilitate community integration.
• Help individual develop healthy social habits.
• Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
• Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Successful drug screen and background check.
• One to two years of experience with the I/DD population preferred.
• This position is an Independent Contractor; contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third‑party contract management vendor for direct deposits.
• Contractors are responsible for state‑required training, occupational accident insurance, and administrative fees for the contract management vendor.

Pay

Community Living and Support (CLS): $20.35 per hour. Respite services: $17 per hour.

Schedule

15 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
