About the role
Serve as a team leader and mentor for DSP I and II staff. Guide individuals toward their personal goals and dreams. Oversee program documentation and ensure compliance. Assist the Program Manager with administrative tasks and coordination. Support medication, meal, and transfer trainings. Communicate effectively and document with accuracy. Participate in ISP meetings and help plan engaging activities.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of hands on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Basic knowledge and understanding of the Person-Centered Plan process. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Proficient in Microsoft Teams and basic computer skills for documentation, communication, and training purposes. Ability to work independently. Passion, empathy, and a commitment to excellence.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field. 50% completion of DSP certification. Ability to obtain DSP certifications within 90 days of employment.
Physical Demands
- Requires light and/or heavy lifting, repetitive bending, sight, hearing, and ability to move with ease. Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, push, lift, pull, reach, sit and walk for periods of time.
Supervision
Exercised None; however, functions as a leader in the program providing mentoring, training and direction to the DSPs.
