Direct Support Professional II (2936)

Starting pay is $20.50/hour for awake hours (additional $1.00 differential for active MAP certification); $17.50/hour for asleep hours.

About the role

Support Advocate is a direct support professional (DSP) position at Seven Hills Foundation. They act as a caregiver for individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or acquired brain injuries (ABI or TBI). The role is ideal for those with customer service, administrative skills, and compassion, including experienced direct care providers, college students, stay-at-home parents, paraprofessionals, or teachers seeking a new career opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day services to program participants, assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, and teeth brushing.
• Teach and support individuals in household maintenance, meal preparation, and shopping, fostering independence and responsibility.
• Accompany individuals to appointments as needed.
• Administer medications or support individuals in self-medicating according to residential guidelines.
• Follow individual routines, including Behavior Support Plans, personal care, and Physical Therapy.
• Assist individuals with varying disabilities in fully participating in their community and personal lives.
• Work as a creative, engaged, and dedicated team member.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or HiSET.
• Standard driver’s license (Class C or D).
• 1–3 years of related experience.
• Varied interests and personal connections in the local community.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history).
