Direct Support Professional I - Respite

Responsibilities

• Provide safe one-to-one care per the plan for children with special health care needs as directed by parents/caretakers (exceptions made when providing respite to siblings who receive respite services).
• Provide socialization opportunities within home and/or outside of home when appropriate.
• Provide family with a relief from caring for their child with special health care needs.
• Perform all necessary self-care tasks as needed by the individual supported.
• Provide transportation to and from all social activities only as approved by parent/caretaker.
• Carry out specific tasks outlined in the respite safety and service plan.
• Provide required documentation to coordinator in a timely manner (timesheets and incident reports, if needed).
• Respond to on-call needs as required per approved hours and parent request.
• Contribute to positive morale by representing the agency through professional communication and interactions.
• Arrive punctually and participate in all required meetings and trainings.
• Drive people to destinations necessary for them to experience a full and diversified life, following all safety and legal regulations.
• Provide support to other areas of the agency, as needed.
• Respond effectively to potential safety hazards and emergencies.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment by being respectful of property and equipment; follow proper maintenance instructions.
• Report incidents as required by regulations and ensure workplace safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

$19.00 per hour
