Direct Support Professional (FT/2nd)

House: Hasenflu House – Hermitage, PA 16148

New wage: $19.25/hr plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will provide individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed
• Administer medications
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week on a rotating 3-week schedule:

• Week 1: 3 pm – 11 pm Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
• Week 2: 3 pm – 11 pm Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Week 3: 3 pm – 11 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions
• Must pass a complete background check, physical, and drug screening

No prior experience is required. Verland provides 2 weeks of paid training covering daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene, and each individual’s support plan and personal development goals. Completion of training is mandatory at the start of employment.
