About the role
Verland is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join the team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights, PA. In this role, you will provide exceptional care to individuals with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule:
- Week 1: 6:30am – 3pm, Monday through Thursday and Saturday
- Week 2: 6:30am – 3pm, Sunday and Tuesday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
- Implement individualized programs; record observations and daily progress notes
- Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
- Assist with meals and perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Perform housekeeping duties as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable means of transportation
- Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions
- Must pass a complete background check, physical, and drug screening
Training
Verland provides 2 weeks of paid training to educate new hires on:
- Daily living skills
- Social engagement
- Personal hygiene skills
- Each individual’s support plan and personal development goals
Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
